Bind My Heart to Thee

Oh to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for Thy courts above

Put on Your Armor

As I'm getting older I'm starting to really feel it when I'm fighting a spiritual battle. Lately I've been at war and after talking to my mom about it she shared with me a very familiar passage. Though I've read it many times, having her share it while I'm in the middle of a battle gave it new meaning.

Ephesians 6:10-18

The Whole Armor of God
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

National Day of Prayer

In these unstable times, with the economy crash and the future unsure and, at times, frightening, there is something that we can be sure of; God's faithfulness. This year on the National Day of Prayer, let's unite with brothers and sisters around the nation and lift our voices up to our Heavenly Father.

Pray for. . .
  • Our government leaders
  • The many people suffering from job losses
  • Our brothers and sisters in Christ, especially the ones over seas; some starving, others in dark prisons for keeping the faith
  • Our families and friends
  • The love of God to shine forth from us to the unsaved
  • That we would remain forever faithful to our Lord
And most of all that God's will would be done in our country and the world.
