I just read two very good books and I thought I'd share them.
Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold~C.S. Lewis
This was a great book! It was one of those books where, when you get to the end, you finally

grasp the enormity of it all! There are so many hidden treasures that you finally understand the value of in the last chapters. It was eye opening for me and explained in a different way, the things we all face in life. It's about three sisters, princesses, Orual being the oldest, then Redival, and their half sister, Istra / Psyche. They live in a country called Glome, the people worship the goddess Ungit known to the greeks as Aphrodite. Even if you don't really like myths, it's a great book!
Tortured For Christ~Richard Wurmbrand
I've had mixed feelings about reading this book for a very long time, because

reading about unspeakable tortures doesn't settle well with me. Rather, it gives me big fears and so I generally like to avoid reading that type of thing. But I find I can't avoid the urge to know, and I finally give in and read the book. I've avoided this book in particular because I knew with a title like that, it was bound to be an emotionally difficult read; and so it was, but I
was ever so glad I finally decided to read it. It really opened my eyes to what not only happened but what still happens to Christians in communist countries. It really made me want to strive more to live my faith in more of a real way. I'm so very grateful that my mom can be free to teach us the scriptures! While in other countries, if a mother teaches her children the gospel, she will have her children taken from her for life. Yet, that mother will still teach her children the gospel even with that deathly real threat looming over her. The western Christians sleep while the eastern Christians, going through countless brutal tortures, endure it with a prayer of love, for salvation for their torturers. It's time for us to wake up and help the body who is suffering! They love their enemies in a very real sense, we need to love them too, but we also need to be on our knees for our brothers and sisters who suffer more than we can imagine. Instead of closing our eyes and ears to the reality, we need to except the reality and act on it! This book will open your eyes and hearts to what God can do through us, the free Christians.

Wow! Yeah... I don't think I'd be as brave as you to go and read that book. Images like that stick to my brain like pb!
